Akashi Idols YENA☆ get a bit serious with their latest promotional video. In “Tokei shikake no bururesuka”, the local girls dance to a moody arrangement filled with whizzes and clicks. Stained glass windows and high arches places the action in a church, and the colored lights illuminating many of the shots add a bit of the mystical to the mysterious. White blouses and shiny color-keyed skirts work well for performance outfits that provide some flash but don’t look too out of the ordinary. “Tokei shikake no bururesuka” makes it clear we are looking at a local idol group that has some ambition and enough wherewithall to make this production look better than it should. “Tokei shikake no bururesuka” is a departure for YENA☆, but on this fifth single it’s good to see the girls stretching out.
