SPARK SPEAKER close out 2018 with a promotional video from their October 8, 2018 release “The World is Mine”. Things in “Realta” start pretty pensive: quiet guitars backed with a soft piano highlight the thoughtful melodies and vocals. With their four member lineup, things explode with big guitars and horns (gasp!) into an energetic dance. “Realta” sounds like a celebration, and the girls look like they’ve been released from prison and are ready to look at the bright light of the sun. The workshop that serves as set for the PV has some nice features: globe lights light the background while stairs and paned windows add texture and depth. But with lyrics like “To carry on, Today is [a] beautiful day”, I don’t know how you can listen to this song and feel uplifted. “Realta” is anthemic and uplifting and exactly what we need in idols.
