At last, we get the promotional video from the lead track from the new GANG PARADE album. “LAST” features songwriting and composition from the Watanabe Junnosuke / Matsukuma Kenta team that’s pretty much synonymous with WACK. The rock arrangement agrees very much with its pedigree with a booming bass guitar and drum tracks that never let the snare drum rest. Emotional and bombastic, “LAST” is WACK at its best. On celluloid, we have a lot of visuals to unpack. The girls of GANG PARADE in their album outfits all sport large keys on their backsides like Shinonome Nano from the anime “Nichijou”. Like that anime, half of the girls use their partner’s a moment of inanimation to bring chaos to the situation. This results in some hilarious moments of freak out and even some tender moments.
Together at last, the GANG PARADE unit come across an (American) football player in need of a wind up. As his key is wound, the football begins to glow and ascend into the heavens like the holy grail. Is this a sign? Does GANG PARADE see the Western audience as a source of salvation? Will GANG PARADE make an appearance in a Western city in 2019? We’ll have to see. “LAST” is from GANG PARADE’s forthcoming 4th album “LAST GANG PARADE”, due January 8, 2019.
