It’s been a while since we’ve seen Kyoto’s Asachill at the New PV Alerts. Today we get the spacy “Chilltopia (チルトピア)” as a promotional video for consideration. Through the magic of cinema, Asachill appears in space with white hood. The sounds are on the chill side of things, but not in the somnambulistic way. “Chilltopia” is a quirky release that may hit you just right if you’re so inclined.
Asachill (あさちる, born June 5) is the “Kyoto Pop Icon” from Pontocho, Kyoto. Asachill was born as a daughter of a long-established Obanzai in Pontocho, a city that flourished as a flower town in Kyoto. Starting activities mainly in local Kyoto as a high school student, Asachill moved her base of activities to Tokyo from 2014. Asachill produced and sent music and MVs with many creators in the wake of taking charge of the theme song for the short animation “SEX and VIOLENCE with MACHSPEED”. In addition to singer activities, she also expands the field of activities such as models and MC by making use of unique fashion sense, individual voice, bright characters and mellow Kyoto dialect. In October 2017, Asachill’s first album “EAT” was recorded, and in January 2018, a concept album “PONT.” With the theme of Kyoto was released. On December 7, 2018, she held her first one-man live and sold out tickets. With live activities centering on Kyoto and Tokyo as an iconic “Kyoto Pop Icon”, Asachill connects Kyoto and the world.
