Oh, my darksiders, where have you gone? XTEEN try to answer that question with their latest “THE NEW BLACK”. With black leather duds and guitar heavy musical arrangements, Nanako and the girls fit the image pretty well. But, “THE NEW BLACK” is a bit too bright in its color treatment to feel truly menacing. For my taste, XTEEN could do with a layer of filth of contrast its pristine images. “THE NEW BLACK” from XTEEN dropped into stores on Friday December 13.
XTEEN (pronounced like “Christine”) is a Horror Punk Idol unit formed in 2018. Their current lineup includes Himekuso Nanako (姫草雛奈子), Kujo Shion (楔條詩苑), and Ginger El (神社 エル).
