A new single from the danso group Fudanjuku is the opening theme from the TV anime “Gunjou no Magmel“. “Dash&Daaash!!” is a raucous rock number that should rub listeners the right way. Pop melodies and layered melodies serve as the score as the girls perform at least one good deed on this short version promotional video. “Dash&Daaash” goes on sale June 19, 2019 at the retailers listed below.

ABOUT FUDANJUKU

Fudanjuku (風男塾?) is a Japanese pop group under Teichiku Entertainment Inc.. The group is formed by females, and it serves as the male alter-ego of the Nakano Fujo Sisters. Nakano Fujo Sisters was formed of gravure models and actresses who considered themselves otaku. The group performed comedic songs and skits, eventually growing into performing their own songs. While performing multiple live shows under the name Nakano Fujo Sisters, the group formed a male-alter ego for themselves, Fudanjuku, to make performances more interesting. Upon CD debut in 2008, the group performed under both names and under both personas. As of November 25, 2011, the activities of the group Nakano Fujo Sisters have been put on hiatus. Fudanjuku, however, is still performing and is popular with teenagers and women in their twenties. Dance rock idol unit QUEENS have their first full length album due soon, and the group has a new promotional video to … promote their new work! The alarmingly parsed “Dis;tortion” puts the six girls in a barquely appointed room with a spinning camera angle for some disorienting looks. In keeping with the ornate sets, QUEENS sports military-esque outfits with an abundance of embroidery and member color accents. The intensity is high, the girls dance like no one’s looking, and I might get dizzy watching the whole affair. You can find “Dis;tortion” on the first album from QUEENS, “RXX”.

Well, they’re hugging things through until they are kissing. ZOC (ゾック, Zone of Control) is an idol unit formed by/around artist Oomori Seiko (大森靖子) in 2018. “Zone of Control” is a term used in War and Role Playing Simulation Games. To put it simply, it refers to the concept of “Controlling the Domain” in games. This term is meant to describe the relationships of the members in ZOC where a place where belonging and supreme isolation co-exist. Of the initial members, 5 of them are alumnis of the Audition Project “Miss iD” which challenges the idea of what it means to be a girl (Omori Seiko has served on the selection commitee for Miss iD since 2014). Turning things to a more dramatic corner, =LOVE split time between the seifuku and the stylish dress for their coupling track promotional video “Niji no moto (虹の素)”. Starting on the rainy rooftops, the song highlights the strained relationship between members Sasaki Maika and Noguchi Iori as they dance around each other’s secrets. “Niji no moto” is beautifully shot with color drained landscapes that reverberate with the emotional distance between the two leads. I just love how the saturated night scenes contrast with the bleak rooftop of the school campus. And there are questions to be asked here: what are those two girls doing in the city at night dolled up so stylishly? Of course the emotion is heightened to an unbearable level; emotion is exactly the feel of the promotional video! There’s an old saying around here: it’s not really summer until SUPER☆GiRLS release their summer bikini promotional video. New music surfaced from Kyary Pamyu Pamyu with the release of “Kimiga iine kuretara (きみがいいねくれたら)”. A couple of different Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s appear in this digital universe of a PV. A bearded version of the singer appears in a alternate universe where things float upward, while a computer fighter version of Kyary also gets a moment to kick virtual ass. And, in case there wasn’t enough going on, a CG avatar of Kyary gets in on the net patrol action. Perhaps not as giddy as other Kyary Pamyu Pamyu releases, “Kimiga iine kuretara” still brings the playfulness of the singer to the foreground. “Kimiga iine kuretara” is now available as a download from the sources listed below.

The new promotional video from BiSH, “I am me.” leads off the recently released “CARROTS” Digital EP. A bit less caustic than the group’s last promotional video “Tsuini shi“, “I am me.” imagines the girls in alternates walks of life: OL, mother, struggling musician … they all look like they have a hole inside of them somewhere. It’s inevitable, but the girls get together even in this life for a choreographed rooftop dance. “I am me.” keeps jangling guitars ahead of a loopy bass and a quick tempo for a a pop rock sound that stays just to this side of vanilla and to that side of chocolate. I definitely feel “Revival” more than “Roadshow” for its Eastern inflected melodies and dramatic promotional video. Kikkawa Yuu (吉川友), often promoted as You Kikkawa, is a soloist under UP-FRONT CREATE. She is a former member of Hello! Project as a member of Hello Pro Egg and MilkyWay. Kikkawa Yuu was born on May 1, 1992 in Ibaraki, Japan to a couple whose names are undisclosed. In 2006, Kikkawa took part in the Morning Musume Happy 8ki Audition, but was not selected to join the group. Subsequently, Kikkawa joined Hello! Project Egg as a trainee for Hello! Project. =LOVE does metal? I know what you’re thinking, and yeah “Iranai twintail (いらないツインテール)” lays down the distorted guitars and double kick drums. The girls also let their inner rockstars out with leather jackets, plaid skirts, and heavy makeup to underscore the toughness. The girls are paired up for your shipping pleasure with the Kiara and Nagisa getting major screen time. So, aside from being about as silly as most metal songs are (when you take the piss out), “Iranai twintail” is a heavier look at =LOVE that should please many of you. A short version promotional video for the guitar heavy “Killer Killer Smile” gets play as the STARDUST PLANET’s Batten Showjo Tai get ready for their second album. The Fukuoka Girls dress in all white in a richly gold decorated room takes us back to Japan’s past. “Killer Killer Smile” is more like “Killer Groove” as the gritty bass and guitar sounds funk things up. Meanwhile, the girls alternate between their white dojo outfits and color-keyed kimono that looks quite nice. But really, I’m going to stay here for the grooves. You will find “Killer Killer Smile” on Batten Showjo Tai’s “BGM” album, set for release June 19, 2019.

I see now that Momoiro Clover Z will produce a promotional video for every track on their soon to be released 5th Album. In this installment, we have the pair “Kareinaru fukushuu (華麗なる復讐)” and “MORE WE DO!”. The first track sees a return to the epic songs that characterized MCZ songs of the past. Christian imagery adds to the religio-grandiose of “Kareinaru fukushuu” as our protagonist priest gets seriously spooked in his own parish. On the other side of things, “MORE WE DO!” puts Momoiro Clover Z in the hands of the Nagoya girls band CHAI, which really comes through in the quirky arrangements and melodies. In the “MORE WE DO!”, despite being an quirky animated product manages to insert the likenesses of Momoiro Clover Z. You can find both songs on “MOMOIRO CLOVER Z”, which hits the store shelves on May 17, 2019.

The new promotional video from predia, “NAKED” marks the first video release from the group since the quadruple graduation in February. Though their numbers have decreased, predia is still dedicated to giving you the finest adult themed idol experience in the idol-sphere. With a song like “NAKED” you’d probably expect lots of unbuttoning and fabric hitting the floor (hopefully in time with the soundtrack). Well, you’d be right here. Predia gives us lots of undressing and lots of the recently undressed; and they do so illuminated with the single bulb of a cell phone flash to make things look and feel a lot dirtier than it should. You know that I could always stop by in the land of predia for Akane’s passionate vocal deliveries, and I know lots of you will stop and check things out here for … a diverse number of reasons. “NAKED”, the new release from predia, will arrive in stores June 12, 2019.

Two weeks ago, Nogizaka46 released the promotional video for their 23rd single “Sing Out!”, and I, in derelict of duty, have yet to say a thing about it. In royal purples and whites, the girls stomp and clap their way through this single with that familiar beat reverberating on the wood floors of the PV. Spotlights focus our attention on small group dances interspersed throughout the cavernous hall of the set. Choruses of “Happy, happy, everybody be happy!” definitely get the idol mood going as Nogizaka46’s number increases to include … well, damn near everybody! The spectacle of the large scale choreography continues to look impressive. When the set turns to the large wooden scaffolding, things look incredibly epic. Nogizaka46’s “Sing Out!”, their 23rd single, goes on sale May 29, 2019.

Tokyo Rockets get a glittering new promotional video for their 1st single on ROCKET BEATS (2nd single overall). The group dresses in pale purples and whites from their dance shot in an attractive circular foyer, while solo shots put the five girls amidst the titular sakura are along the shoreline. The rock arrangement highlights the syncopated rhythms of the melodies with a few melodic surprises along the way. Tokyo Rockets might be a surprise favorite with its attractive lineup and melodic rock sensibilities. The song definitely grew on me as I watched it for this New PV Alert. Tokyo Rockets (formerly written as 東京ロケッツ) is a Japanese idol group formed in 2013. They are a sister group of Party Rockets. Two graduation singles in a row for Juice=Juice, oh my oh my! On today’s installment, we get the graduation song for 1st generation member and leader Miyazaki Yuka “25sai eien setsu (25歳永遠説)”. Lyrics by H!P stable songwriter Kodama Ameko go a long way to express the peculiar situation that Yuka finds herself; I particularly though the bit about high heels that seem to fit better. For plot, the departing leader takes an early train back to her hometown Kanazawa for a day alone, while her group-mates worry about. Protected by a rainbow umbrella meant to evoke the members of Juice=Juice, Yuka turns out just fine. Yuka actually leaves her umbrella behind in Kanazawa, signifying her graduation from the group. If you’re a sucker for symbolism like that (like me), you’re going to love “25sai eien setsu”. The 12th single from Juice=Juice “‘Hitori de Ikirareso’ tte Sorette Ne, Hometeiruno? / 25 Sai Eien Setsu” goes on sale June 5, 2019.
